Case Study: Applied Products Apply Corporate Logos and Graphics to New Office of Go Compare in Cardiff

In April 2007, we were approached by one of our good customers Office Visions in Cardiff to produce corporate signage for new offices of "Go Compare" in Cardiff. The purpose of the application was to provide privacy to occupants of offices.
After working closely with staff at Go Compare an idea was generated which involved the use of computer generated images of the staff in the office cut out of frosted material and applied to glass.
Eventually after consultation with our technical staff it was decided that we would use the corporate images already used by Go Compare.
The application was extremely successful and as you can see from the pictures the effect is striking!

Case Study: Application of Reflective Film to Create Privacy in Hairdressers "Haircare Solutions" in Swansea

We were asked to visit the above premises to recommend a suitable window film product. A window film which would not only upgrade the appearance of the existing building but one which would reduce solar heat gain and glare and also provide day time privacy.
All of the requirements were satisfied with the application of a Llumar product N1020SBSRHPR which is a dark copper reflective material applied internally to the glass.

Case Study: Preparation of Glazing surveys and Subsequent Application of 3M Scotchshield 100 micron clear safety window film to Schools and Public Buildings in the Neath & Port Talbot area.

In 2006 we were approached by Neath Port Talbot Council initiating a long term project of upgrading their premises using 3M safety film to comply with Regulation 14 and areas of special risk.
Initially we concentrated on school premises by conducting a survey giving a comprehensive breakdown of items and areas that needed to be upgraded. Part of the survey included costs to enable the council to predict budgeting. These premises were subsequently upgraded using 100 micron 3M Scotchshield Safety film giving a 10 year warranty.
After completion and working closely with the council we were able to output files necessary to integrate into their oracle database centralising data for all their staff.
This has been a very successful contract for both parties and is still ongoing now moving in to public buildings to comply with current legislations.
Case Study: Application of 3M Scotchtint Low-E LE35AMARL window film to all windows of Penllergaer Civic Centre for City & County of Swansea.
We were asked by City & County of Swansea to visit the above site and suggest a film that would help reduce both the heat and the glare in the offices. After our surveyors attending site and conducting a site survey, the application of 3M's Low Emission Amber Reflective film (LE35AMARL) was recommended.
After a successful trial application in two of the small offices within the Civic Centre, where excellent feedback was given by the employees; the council decided to apply the film throughout then centre.

The added benefits of Low Solar Heat Loss in the colder months also impressed the council who will see a reduction in both heating and air conditioning costs as a result of the application.
Since this application Swansea Council have earmarked more of their premises' for the application of LE35AMARL over the next financial year including the Civic Offices on Ostermouth Road (Where some film application was completed before the end of the last financial year).
Using Solar Control Film to Lower Carbon Emissions
Starting in March 2010, large non-energy intensive business and public sector organisations will have to start buying carbon allowances to cover their carbon emissions, which involves measuring and recording energy use and calculating carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions (not including transport emissions).
This Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) will involve around 20,000 public and private sector organisations in the UK ranging from retailers, banks, water companies, hotel chains, universities and local authorities and for some, this will mean paying for a revenue recycling scheme and even facing financial penalties for poor performance.
Solar control window film has been around for more than three decades, the technology involved is such that when applied to windows, it severely limits the impact of solar heat gain on and the likely associated costs of cooling the office, building or house, which is a major step towards cutting carbon footprint levels. By rejecting up to 79% of solar energy, interior temperatures are kept more controllable and stable keeping the room cooler and more comfortable, reducing the need for air conditioning.

Window film can reduce your cooling load by 30% which is equivalent to roughly 5% of the energy bill; a number that could represent thousands of pounds in penalties or CO2 allowances to many UK firms.
See the Energy Conservation section of our Window Film product range for further information on suitable products for energy conservation such as 3M Low e LE35AMARL Amber reflective window film.
All solar control window films will help you to reduce your carbon footprint by reducing the heat gain through the glass from the sun.
Case Study: Cardiff City Stadium DDA Manifestations
We were contacted by one of our regular customers, Dudley's Architectural Aluminium, who were a contractor for the New 27,000 all-seater Stadium in Cardiff, which is to be shared between Cardiff Blues Welsh Rugby Region and Cardiff City Football Club from the beginning of the 2009- 2010 season.
They required their glazing to be meet DDA regulations and on inspection of the Architects drawings, we were able to provide a cost for 55mm diameter dot manifestations which would need to be applied at two levels on the glass.
After the application Dudley's and the main contractor were satisfied that the application brought the glazing up to meet DDA regulations.
