Window Films

Glass is often taken for granted yet it surrounds us in different forms.
However, glass can pose serious problems to everyday lives and often cannot satisfy all the demands we place upon it in terms of safety, security, privacy, comfort and visual appearance.
Window film is designed to:
- reduction of fading for your furniture, carpets, flooring and more
- cut annoying glare such as screen glare
- reduce up to 99% of the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays
- reduce excessive heat gain through your windows
- provide increased comfort and energy efficiency through energy management
- prevent injury from glass fragments due to crime and terrorism through window security
Window films provide an elegant but practical means for solving many of the most challenging aspects of managing sun control and security issues surrounding the use of your home, car or business.
Window films reduce up to 99% of the sun's ultraviolet rays and reject up to 79% of the solar heat that may otherwise come through a window (also known as window tinting). They also help reduce winter heat loss by reflecting up to 35% of indoor heat back in to the room contributing to energy conservation.
Solar control window films can also save energy by reducing air conditioning costs in the summer through reflecting the heat out and heating costs in the winter by helping reduce heat loss through the glass.
Being a 3M distributor we supply all 3M window film products another important series is the new 3M Prestige Series, a unique collection of window films with superior heat rejection, no-metal technology and low reflectivity.

3M Scotchshield Safety and Security window films provide fragment retention by holding the glass together during smash and grab crimes or acts of terrorism. They help to seal out the water and they have a toughness that allows them films to withstand day-to-day abuse.
Safety and security (Safety and Security window film) has always been high on the agenda, but environmental performance is now a significant consideration in building design and performance (Low E window films). Summer solar heat gain and glare through glass can cause discomfort to occupiers as well as increased air conditioning costs (Solar Control window films).
Glass may also be the weak point in a building in terms of privacy or security with people being able to see in to the building through the glass but also from un-wanted intruders, vandals and graffiti (Privacy and Anti-vandal window films).
Glass can also be the point of entry for electro-magnetic induction techniques used to steal computer data especially with the introduction of wireless technology.
Window films can filter out approximately 99% of UV light which is one of the factors responsible for colours fading. Therefore window film may be the ideal solution for shops, museums and other display areas-shielding items from the damaging effects of the sun whilst allowing them to be viewed by natural daylight (Museum window film).
Window film can also be used to give a frosted glass effect and privacy film. The material can also be manufactured in to vinyl stickers for glass.
